Wilson 'loving it' amid Hearts goals and Scotland recall

James Wilson is delighted after scoring two goals that secured his spot back in both Hearts' starting lineup and the Scotland national team. The 19-year-old striker, who has earned two caps for Scotland, was recently called up to the national squad by new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli, despite missing out on the World Cup qualifiers last summer.

Wilson expressed his excitement about returning to the team, stating, "It's been a while actually since I was properly in the last one, it was last summer, so I'm looking forward to being back around the group."

Wilson's journey back into the team was not without challenges. He had to be patient as he started his new role under Hearts' head coach, Wouter Vrancken. Despite this, Wilson has managed to score five goals in his last seven appearances, signaling a promising turnaround. He credits his recent success to the invaluable experience he gained during his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur's youth team last season.

"I was still young, I was still learning and I felt it was the biggest benefit for me at the time to go and do that," Wilson shared.

With his recent performances, Wilson has firmly established himself as a key player for both Hearts and Scotland, marking a significant improvement from his less active start to the season.
