Xabi Alonso praises 'special' Cole Palmer as Chelsea star awaits England decision
Cole Palmer has been in fine form for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, and manager Xabi Alonso believes there is still 'more to come' from the England international
Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has been impressive this season, scoring four goals in six games across all competitions. After a difficult 2025/26 campaign due to a persistent groin issue, Palmer was left out of Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the FIFA World Cup. He had the summer off, the first time in his career, and the break has evidently paid off.
At present, Palmer is part of Chelsea's most dangerous attacking trio alongside Morgan Rogers and João Pedro, with no backline managing to shut out the trio. In a recent interview, Xabi Alonso, Palmer's Chelsea boss, expressed that there is more to come from the 24-year-old forward, emphasizing the player's desire to enjoy the game and form a strong connection with his teammates.
Alonso also mentioned that England and more winning games will come naturally for Palmer, as he is a top-level player.
