China’s UBTech opens world-first factory that builds a humanoid robot every ten minutes — 14,000 square meter plant will deliver army of 10,000 robots a year

China's UBTech has unveiled a groundbreaking robot factory in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, marking the world's first facility capable of producing a humanoid robot every ten minutes. Spanning 14,000 square meters, the factory will generate 10,000 androids annually, according to the Seoul Economic Daily.

UBTech's new plant leverages autonomous robots throughout the manufacturing process, showcasing the increasing reliance on fully autonomous technology in industry. The factory employs humanoid robots and driverless vehicles to transport and stack materials, while collaborative robots assist in the final assembly of each android. These advanced robots work alongside human operators, utilizing autonomous vehicles and rotating workbenches to optimize production.

In addition to its robot manufacturing capabilities, UBTech has introduced "the industry's first fully automated three-dimensional warehouse," boasting a 50% increase in storage capacity compared to traditional facilities of similar size. This innovative warehouse can store 112 robots within just 65 square meters of space.

UBTech's groundbreaking factory is a direct result of China's robust supply chain, which has been bolstered by the nation's wealth of engineers, scientists, and extensive research and development experience over the past decade. UBTech Vice President Fang Jianxin attributes the company's success to this strong foundation, emphasizing the country's accumulated expertise in robot production and manufacturing capabilities.

China has been witnessing a surge in robot production in recent years, with the National Bureau of Statistics of China reporting a 30.2% increase in output in July 2026 compared to the previous year. Between January and July 2026 alone, 635,056 robots were manufactured, marking a 28.5% year-on-year growth.

This development signals a significant leap in the global robot industry, as UBTech's factory demonstrates the potential for autonomous factories to transform manufacturing processes worldwide.
