China's UBTECH Opens World's First 10,000-Unit Humanoid Robot Factory, Where 'Robots Build Robots' Every Ten Minutes

Chinese humanoid robot maker UBTECH has launched the world's first intelligent manufacturing facility capable of producing 10,000 industrial humanoid robots annually. The Super Smart Factory, situated in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, spans 14,000 square meters and stands 13.8 meters tall. The plant's production line can roll out a completed industrial humanoid robot every ten minutes.

UBTECH's Walker S series, designed for industrial use, and the Cruzr series, intended for service and interactive settings, are manufactured at the facility. The company credits the project's success to industrial simulation systems and scheduling by a digital "smart brain," achieving a manufacturing model where robots build robots.

The factory, co-developed with Siemens Digital Industries Software, utilizes digital twin technology and a manufacturing operations management system for work-order scheduling, material distribution, and quality monitoring. Each robot is assigned a unique serial number for full traceability. On the production floor, UBTECH's Cruzr Y1 and Cruzr S2 robots manage material handling, while a combination of collaborative robotic arms, unmanned logistics vehicles, power-assist manipulators, and rotating worktables facilitates the assembly of multiple robot models on a single line.

Post-production, robots undergo extensive testing and a 360-degree visual inspection before being stored in an automated warehouse capable of holding 112 units in a space of only 65 square meters. This milestone underscores China's accelerating growth in industrial robotics, with the country producing 98,677 industrial robots in July alone, marking a 30.2% year-on-year increase, and a cumulative output of 635,056 units for the first seven months of 2026, up 28.5% compared to the same period last year.
