Anambra debt: ‘Peter Obi made fake promises, collected loans and lied’ – Presidency

Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu's Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), of making fake promises, collecting loans while serving as governor of Anambra State, and lying about it. In a post on X, Bwala said that Obi's supporters were hypocritical for criticizing the government's loan collection while ignoring the fact that their hero, Peter Obi, had done the same.

Bwala added that everything Obi had promised was fundamentally different from what he had achieved during his tenure as governor. Obi's surrogates in the morning show were reportedly taken aback by the revelation about his loan claim. Bwala stated that more records were set to emerge in the coming days, and he invited Obi to respond in kind, stating that they would answer with facts and not insults, vitriol, or hate speech.
