Zolani Tete’s father says family still reeling from his death

Eastern Cape boxer Zolani Tete's father, Zolile Tete, expressed to the media outside Mdantsane Magistrates' Court that his family is still struggling to cope with the loss of their loved one. Despite his willingness to forgive the accused and their families, the grief remains, and he has no further words for them. The court denied bail to two men accused of orchestrating Zolani's murder, citing the gravity of the charges and the risk of the accused fleeing the country.

The alleged mastermind, a paraplegic, will be transferred to a facility capable of providing round-the-clock medical care. The case will return to court on October 13, 2026, as it progresses towards trial.
