Defensive end whose 2023 hit hurt Joe Burrow could miss Bengals-Texans

Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has been sidelined by a knee injury, according to the team's injury report ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. During the Texans' Week 1 loss to Buffalo, Clowney managed one sack and two quarterback pressures. The injury has forced him to miss consecutive practices.

Clowney signed with the Texans as a free agent in August, joining the team just days after he had already agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns. Another Texans player, receiver Nico Collins, also missed practice due to a hamstring injury.

Clowney's tenure with the Texans has been notable, as he played for them from 2016 to 2018, earning three Pro Bowl selections in that span. That hit resulted in Burrow suffering a season-ending wrist injury. Clowney's performance in the 2025 season was impressive, as he recorded 8.5 sacks while playing for the Dallas Cowboys.
