Tuanku Muhriz remains legitimate Yamtuan, says Negeri Sembilan DKU

The Negeri Sembilan Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) has confirmed that Tuanku Muhriz remains the legitimate Yang di-Pertuan Besar of the state. The body stated that the recent decision by the state executive council on September 16, which sought to confirm Tuanku Muhriz's removal and recognize a new ruler, is invalid and lacks legal standing.

The DKU emphasized that such matters fall under its jurisdiction as per the Negeri Sembilan Constitution, and they are not subject to the state executive council's authority. The organization welcomed the Menteri Besar's statement on September 15, which echoed the DKU's position that the menteri besar does not have unilateral power to vacate the Yang di-Pertuan Besar's office.

The DKU also highlighted that the April 19 proclamation was defective and void from the start, as no inquiry under Article X(1) of the state constitution had been conducted, and three of its four signatories were not legally serving as Undang at the time. The DKU reiterated that the matter is currently under consideration in the Seremban High Court, and a court order is in force, urging all parties to respect the judicial process.
