Apple has poured heaps of effort into enhancing its photography software with the introduction of iOS 27. To make the most of this upgrade, here are the 15 best new iOS 27 Camera and Photos tips for iPhone photographers.

Firstly, custom camera controls have returned, proving more useful than before. Open Camera, tap the tools button located to the right of the shutter, and press 'Edit'. Customize which controls remain on-screen at all times.

Next, consider shooting RAW with your iPhone. Apple has upgraded its RAW 9 feature, making it available out of the box without any additional setup.

If you've used the Clean Up feature before without satisfying results, give it another try in iOS 27. The 'Quality' menu now includes 'High Quality', allowing for more detailed work. Remember to tap-hold to see the original image and ensure the AI hasn't made any unwanted changes.

The Extend tool is a new addition designed to add space beyond the edges of a photo. Select it, and Photos will help you adjust the extension bounds and crop as needed. However, be cautious when using this tool for major edits, as it's a probability machine and may not yield authentic results.

The Reframe tool is a contentious addition, as it can create artificial-looking images. Drag to pan your shot, tap Reframe, and Photos will calculate a depth map and recreate the image with a different perspective. Use this feature sparingly, as the results may appear fake.

Keywords provide a more granular way to group and find photos. In iOS 27, you can add and manage keywords directly within Photos. Tap a photo's info button and 'Add Keywords' to assign relevant terms, then manage existing keywords by accessing your profile in the Collections tab.

Apple has also introduced the ability to create and manage your own custom filters. Add, rename, or delete keywords, then use 'Add to Favourite' to send a keyword to your Favourites field. From there, access keywords in the Library or an album by tapping the filter button (three lines) and selecting the 'Keywords' menu.

For enhanced slideshow creation, select multiple photos from any thumbnails view and go to '…' 'Start Slideshow'. While the slideshow plays, tap the screen to customize transition type, shot duration, music, and looping. To save your slideshow for later, go to '…' 'Share' and choose 'Save Video'.

Lastly, you can now sync photos faster with iCloud. In the Collections tab, tap your profile and set 'Sync Immediately' to 'For Today' to ensure your photos are always up-to-date and synced with your device.
