Snap unveils personal AI assistant, new features coming to Specs: What you get with the AR glasses

Snap unveiled its highly anticipated AR smart glasses, Specs, on Wednesday, September 16, along with new features and partnerships. The wearable device, priced at $2,195, will ship with Specs Intelligence, an AI assistant that connects to users' digital accounts to assist with work tasks, travel planning, and more. Early adopters can try the AR glasses at a pop-up event in Los Angeles in October 2026.

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel emphasized the importance of making computers more helpful rather than making users irrelevant. The AI-powered Specs Intelligence aims to anticipate users' needs and integrate with various apps like Gmail and Slack. Users can also enjoy entertainment features such as watching HBO Max and Spotify content. For enterprise users, Snap introduced a program called Specs for Enterprise, enabling integration with corporate workflows and partnerships with companies like Amazon, Salesforce, and Nvidia.

Additionally, Specs will offer basketball practice via AR capabilities, powered by collaborations with NBA and WNBA. Verizon customers can benefit from a connectivity package with built-in cellular connectivity, available at $10 a month or $20 a month for non-Verizon users.
