NIA marks Identity Day with public education float and mass registration exercise in Accra

The National Identification Authority (NIA) celebrated its 20th anniversary and Identity Day on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Accra with a public education float and mass registration exercise. The activities aimed to raise awareness of the Authority's identification services and make registration opportunities more accessible to the public.

The float, led by NIA staff, began at the Authority's Head Office, passed through key streets of Shiashie and Accra Mall, and concluded at the Legon Business School. During the float, officials interacted with the public to explain the services provided by the NIA, such as the locations of district, premium, and prestige centers, and the associated fees for various identification services.

Following the float, a special mass registration exercise took place at the Legon Business School, allowing members of the school community to register and access NIA services. The NIA emphasized that these activities were an integral part of their efforts to enhance public awareness and improve access to essential identification services.
