‘Miami Vice ’85’: John Leguizamo to Play the Villian in Joseph Kosinski Reboot

John Leguizamo is the talk of the awards circuit for his role in "The Odyssey," but now he is set to take on a villainous role in Joseph Kosinski's upcoming film "Miami Vice ’85," a reboot of the iconic ’80s TV series. Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler will star as the iconic duo Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs, while Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, and Danny Ramirez complete the cast.

Dan Gilroy, Oscar nominee for "Nightcrawler," has penned the screenplay, drawing inspiration from the original characters crafted by Anthony Yerkovich. Michael Mann executive produced the film. An earlier draft of the screenplay was penned by Eric Warren Singer. The 1984 pilot episode of "Miami Vice" laid the foundation for the enduring partnership of Crockett and Tubbs, embodied by Butler and Jordan, as they comb Miami Beach for drug dealers and other wrongdoers.
