Governor Otti did not call Ngwa people brainless – Abia Govt

The Abia State Government has refuted allegations made by Charles Ogbonna, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, who claimed that Governor Alex Otti described Ngwa people, the largest clan in Abia, as "people without brain." In a trending video, Ogbonna insisted that Governor Otti had personally told him that Ngwa people have no brain, promising to provide evidence if asked.

However, Abia State Government responded on Thursday, challenging Ogbonna's claims as false and baseless. According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to Abia State Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Alex Otti holds Ngwa people in high regard and never made such an utterance against them. The statement emphasized that Governor Otti's actions, including equitable appointments, projects, and policies, demonstrate his esteem for Ndi Ngwa, just like for all other Abians in the state.

Ekeoma also accused Ogbonna of spreading malicious falsehoods and incitement, suggesting it is a strategy to support the candidates from his political party. The government urged Ogbonna to cease making statements that could harm the peace of the state.
