Colts brace for a new-look Chiefs attack after Kenneth Walker III’s 173-yard opener against Denver

The Indianapolis Colts faced a new challenge this week as they prepared to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, following the Chiefs' impressive 31-10 victory over the Denver Broncos. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes had returned from a season-ending knee surgery and looked sharp, while the defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo continued to keep Denver guessing with his blitz packages.

However, the Chiefs now boasted a genuine number one running back in Kenneth Walker III, who rushed for a career-high 173 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's loss. This presented a stark contrast to Baltimore's recent 144-yard, three-touchdown performance by Derrick Henry in a 41-23 win over the Colts. Colts coach Shane Steichen acknowledged the wake-up call, stating that there is still much work to be done, particularly in stopping the run.
