Wike vs Uzodinma: You need to step in now – Sambo to Tinubu

Arise News Director and Politics Editor, Sumner Sambo, has urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing political dispute between Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike. Sambo expressed concern that President Tinubu's failure to address the situation has demonstrated a lack of political strength.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, including Uzodinma, have distanced themselves from Wike's Rainbow Coalition, highlighting the growing rift between Wike and Uzodinma ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Wike denied any connection between the Rainbow Coalition and the APC, arguing that politics should be handled locally, rather than through re-election efforts.

Sambo noted that the dispute between Wike and Uzodinma appears more personal, urging the President to step in and help resolve the situation. He acknowledged Wike's significant support for Tinubu's re-election, but stressed that the current conflict should not overshadow the shared political experience and contributions of both individuals.

Sambo emphasized the need for President Tinubu to utilize his political acumen to help bridge the gap between Wike and Uzodinma before the 2027 election.
