Abu Dhabi Police have issued a warning to drivers and pedestrians, urging them to adhere to safety rules on the roads. In a recent social media post, the police emphasized the dangers of crossing roads at non-designated locations, which can lead to serious accidents, including being run over. The video accompanying the post showcased a variety of unsafe driving and pedestrian behaviors, such as drivers speeding near crossings instead of slowing down, and pedestrians running across roads without using designated crossings.

Drivers were reminded to stay alert for pedestrians and to reduce their speed near crossing areas. Pedestrians were advised to use designated crosswalks, bridges, or tunnels, and to follow pedestrian traffic light signals. The fine for pedestrians who fail to follow traffic signals or cross roads without reaching a designated area in the UAE is set at Dh400.
