School student injured in Idukki

On Tuesday evening, a Class XII student named Sharan sustained serious head injuries while playing with friends at his school in Idukki. Sharan, a Plus Two student at Government Higher Secondary School in Kumily, hails from Anavilasam. According to initial reports, the incident took place during a football game at the school ground.

One of the students allegedly swung an iron rod, which unintentionally struck Sharan on the head, causing a severe injury. Sharan was first admitted to a nearby private hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Pala, Kottayam, for specialized medical care. His condition remains critical. The Kumily police have questioned three students who were present at the scene.

While preliminary investigations indicate that the injury was accidental, forensic and fingerprint experts have visited the site to collect evidence. The police are currently investigating to ascertain whether foul play or any conspiracy was involved.
