Kaduna ADC guber candidate calls for calm after bloody clash with APC supporters

Following a violent clash at Dakande Toll Gate in Kaduna State, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, the ADC governorship candidate, has called for calm and peaceful behavior among his supporters. The confrontation erupted when Ashiru returned to the state from Saudi Arabia. Reports suggest that ADC supporters had congregated at the toll gate to greet him, but they were allegedly confronted by suspected APC supporters.

Awwal Gezau, an ADC member, claimed that vehicles parked near Maraban Jos were also targeted by armed individuals. According to Gezau, the assailants, who arrived in trucks and a bus, damaged several ADC supporters' vehicles. The ADC further alleged that some of its members on their way to Kaduna to greet Ashiru faced attacks at Dakande.

In response, Ashiru's media aide, Ibrahim Usman, condemned the alleged attack and urged his supporters not to take matters into their own hands. He emphasized that they should not respond with violence, insult, abuse, or defame anyone, regardless of their political background or position. Ashiru stressed that their strength lies in discipline, character, and commitment to improving Kaduna State, and their campaign must stay focused on issues that matter to the people.
