Qatar organizes awareness-raising programs, marking World Cleanup Day 2026

Qatar's Ministry of Municipality has planned a series of awareness and community programs to commemorate World Cleanup Day 2026, aiming to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, and sustainability. These events are scheduled from September 13 to 19 and involve government agencies, private-sector entities, volunteers, and community members.

The Public Cleanliness Department organized an event attended by more than 300 students of varying educational levels. The gathering featured interactive workshops, cultural competitions, and prizes, all centered around waste sorting and recycling.

In addition to the student event, the Al Dhaayen and Al Rayyan municipalities partnered with the Public Cleanliness Department to conduct beach-cleaning campaigns at Semaisma and Abu Samra beaches. These initiatives seek to raise awareness about the significance of maintaining beach cleanliness and public amenities, foster a sense of community responsibility, and encourage citizens to contribute to the protection of natural resources.
