Ganeshotsav In Pune: PMC Readies 5 Ghats, 150 Mobile Toilets For Immersion

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is gearing up for Ganeshotsav 2026, preparing five major immersion sites and 150 mobile toilets to ensure smooth celebrations. The five designated mandals under PMC's jurisdiction include Kasba Ganpati, Tambdi Jogeshwari, Tulshibaug, Guruji Talim, and Kesariwada. To handle the immersion process, five primary sites have been established at Ashtabhuja Ghat, Patwardhan Samadhi Ghat, Apate Ghat, SM Joshi Pool, and Hanambar Ghat in Tatwadi.

Additionally, 60 iron tanks have been strategically placed at 32 locations to supplement river immersion. Public toilets and water supply have been prioritized, with 1,107 toilet seats and 292 urinals available, along with 150 mobile toilets strategically located to manage the influx of devotees. Road infrastructure has also been addressed, with repairs conducted on key procession routes such as Shivaji Road, Bajirao Road, Tilak Road, Kumthekar Road, and Kelkar Road.

Safety measures include the presence of lifeguards at all five ghats and health inspectors deployed for sanitation management.
