Diana Shipping Inc. Announces Time Charter Contract for m/v Astarte With Aquavita

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping firm focusing on dry bulk vessels, has entered into a time charter agreement with Aquavita International S.A. for their Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel, m/v Astarte. The agreement involves a gross charter rate of US$17,000 per day, excluding a 4.75% commission for third parties, with a charter term spanning until September 1, 2027, and potentially extending to November 15, 2027.

The charter is set to begin on September 20, 2026. Currently, m/v Astarte is chartered to Propel Shipping Pte. Ltd. at a rate of US$12,500 per day, with a 5.00% commission. The vessel, an 81,513 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk ship built in 2013, is projected to bring approximately US$5.81 million in gross revenue during the charter's minimum period.

Diana Shipping Inc.'s fleet presently comprises 36 dry bulk vessels, including 4 Newcastlemax, 8 Capesize, 4 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax, 5 Panamax, and 9 Ultramax. The company also anticipates receiving two methanol dual fuel new Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels by the middle of 2027 and the first half of 2028, respectively. As of now, excluding the two vessels yet to be delivered, the combined carrying capacity of the fleet is around 4.1 million dwt, with an average age of 12.81 years.
