‘Creative industry giant’ – Tinubu mourns Olu Jacobs

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his profound sorrow over the passing of renowned Nollywood actor and film executive, Olu Jacobs, widely known as Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs. According to DAILY POST, the news of his demise was revealed by his son on Wednesday. Addressing the situation through a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President hailed Jacobs as one of Nigeria's most distinguished actors and a towering figure whose career spanned theatre, television, and film on an international scale.

Tinubu emphasized Jacobs' significant contributions to the growth and professionalization of Nigeria’s entertainment sector, remarking that he inspired countless actors and filmmakers with his unwavering talent, discipline, and commitment to his craft. The President commended the actor for his ability to infuse depth, dignity, and authenticity into the roles he portrayed, garnering admiration both within Nigeria and across the globe.

"He was a giant of the Nigerian creative industry. His passing is a great loss to Nigeria, the African film industry, and the global community of admirers of the performing arts. His exemplary body of work will continue to inspire generations to come," Tinubu conveyed.
