Yayi threatens legal action over claims he is Ekiti indigene

All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate for Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi, has threatened to file a lawsuit against two individuals who claim he is an Ekiti State indigenous person. Yayi, who is a Senator representing Ogun West, gave 24 hours to suspended APC member Hon Abayomi Hunye and Peoples Democratic Party member Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello to provide evidence supporting their claims or face legal action.

According to Yayi's media adviser, Kayode Odunaro, Hunye and Marcus-Bello made the allegations during separate interviews on Channels Television programs. The senator described the claims as false and libellous, demanding that the individuals provide proof of his state of origin within 24 hours. This threat comes amid renewed controversy over Adeola's ancestral origin ahead of the 2027 Ogun State gubernatorial election, with traditional councils in Kemta, Ogun State, confirming his ancestral ties to the community.
