Roads Minister fumes at contractor over slow pace on 55km Bediako Junction-Camp 15-Sefwi Adabokrom road

Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Governs Agbodza has voiced his dissatisfaction with the contractor responsible for constructing the 55-kilometre Bediako Junction-Camp 15-Sefwi Adabokrom road, Delovely Company Limited. During a site inspection on Tuesday, September 15, the Minister expressed concerns about the contractor's commitment to the project.

By around 11 a.m., the necessary materials for concrete work were not available, and the formwork had not yet been completed. Agbodza questioned the contractor's preparedness, stating that the formwork should be a significant indication of their readiness to work. He urged contractors to demonstrate visible readiness right from the beginning of the working day.

The Minister noted that contractors who improved their pace after being advised had doubled their output. He emphasized that despite the route being relatively short, the contractor was not working hard enough. Agbodza cautioned contractors against shifting the blame to politicians for delays or poor performance on projects they had been engaged and paid for.

Residents of the Ahafo Region demanded punitive actions against the contractor for their lack of seriousness.
