WhatsApp May Soon Let iPhone Users Manage Three Accounts

WhatsApp is reportedly developing an update that will enable iPhone users to manage up to three accounts within a single app. This feature would build upon the existing multi-account support for iOS, which currently permits users to add two accounts to the same device. According to WABetaInfo, the option for a third account was discovered in the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.37.10.15, distributed via TestFlight. However, the feature is still in development and not yet accessible to beta testers.

Currently, WhatsApp supports multi-account management on both iOS and Android platforms, enabling users to maintain two accounts on the same device. This feature also allows for independent account settings and chat data, facilitating seamless switching between accounts without the need to sign out. If implemented, the upcoming update would empower users with three phone numbers to oversee all their WhatsApp accounts from a single iPhone.

This could prove beneficial for individuals who maintain distinct personal, work, and business accounts, eliminating the necessity for a secondary device or repeated login and logout procedures. Each account would remain separate, preserving its individual chat history, notifications, backups, media, and settings. Notifications would also indicate which account received a message, while App Lock can be configured individually for each account.

WABetaInfo indicates that users who already possess two accounts would reportedly notice an "Add account" option to create an additional profile. This option might be accessible via the app's settings or the existing "Switch accounts" menu. Similar to the existing multi-account feature, each account would maintain its own chat history, notifications, backups, media, and settings. Notifications would also specify which account received a message, with App Lock capabilities configurable separately for each account.

It remains to be seen when support for three accounts will be granted to beta testers or made available to the general public. Additionally, there is no indication of whether this feature will extend to Android users, although such a possibility cannot be ruled out.
