Apple Rolls Out Siri AI, Offers TV And Arcade With iCloud+ At No Extra Cost In India

Apple has initiated the rollout of iOS 27 to eligible iPhones in India, accompanied by a major upgrade to Siri known as "Siri AI" and a suite of Apple Intelligence features, performance enhancements, and interface modifications. The primary enhancement in iOS 27 is the introduction of Siri AI, a more sophisticated version of Apple's virtual assistant, powered by Apple Intelligence.

This upgraded Siri can engage in more fluid, multi-stage conversations and recall previous information without the need for users to repeat context. It can also leverage personal data stored across various apps, such as retrieving a booking code from an email or locating a photo without a manual search. Siri AI operates as a standalone app, facilitating smoother integration with third-party applications.

Alongside Siri AI, iOS 27 introduces AI-driven photo editing capabilities, including Spatial Reframing and enhanced Clean Up tools, as well as a visual search feature accessible through the camera. Additionally, the update includes new child safety controls for parents to regulate their children's iPhone usage. While Indian users will have access to most AI-driven tools in iOS 27, such as Writing Tools, Genmoji, Image Playground, Mail and Messages summaries, voicemail summaries, Siri's product knowledge, Type to Siri, and dictation, the rollout of Siri AI will initially be limited to English-speaking users in India, pending support for other languages.

The full Siri AI and Apple Intelligence feature set, however, will only be available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or later models, whereas earlier iPhone 11 to iPhone 14 and standard iPhone 15 owners can update to iOS 27 without the complete Siri AI experience. Performance improvements in iOS 27 include faster app launches, quicker photo content loading, and expedited AirDrop transfers, alongside refined user interface elements and updates to Safari, Camera, Photos, Maps, and Find My applications.

To update to iOS 27 in India, users should ensure their device is adequately charged and connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, back up their data, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update, tap Update, and follow the subsequent on-screen instructions. Apple commenced the global rollout of iOS 27 on September 14, with Indian users expected to receive the update around 10:30 PM IST, consistent with Apple's typical rollout schedule.

Due to the high demand likely following the release, some users may experience delays in download speeds; those who do not see the update immediately are encouraged to attempt the update again later rather than concluding their device is ineligible. Users also have the option to enable Automatic Updates, which will facilitate the download of iOS 27 without the need for manual intervention.
