Security forces kill terrorists, recover weapons in Kebbi raid

Quetta witnessed security forces and the Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) eliminating nine terrorists, including a pivotal commander of a banned group, in two distinct operations across Mastung, Pishin, and Qila Abdullah districts, officials disclosed on Monday. According to sources, the security forces eliminated three terrorists, comprising commander Naqeeb, during an operation in Mastung.

Utilizing a quadcopter, the forces launched a precision strike that annihilated the vehicle carrying the terrorists, claiming the lives of all three individuals. Simultaneously, six terrorists linked to a proscribed organization were slain in a joint operation conducted by the CTD, police, and other law enforcement agencies in Pishin and Qila Abdullah districts.

A CTD spokesperson reported that four of their personnel sustained injuries during a prolonged gun battle that raged for an hour in villages near Saranan. Initial reports suggested five terrorists were apprehended during the operation, although authorities have not yet verified these claims as of the publication of this report. The spokesperson revealed that intelligence-led information triggered the operation in Killi Sultan, Azhram, Dinar, Gelo areas of Pishin, as well as other pinpointed locations in the two districts.

A substantial quantity of weapons and other materials was seized from the detained suspects. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover information about their networks, facilitators, and intended terrorist activities. The operation was coordinated by the Zhob Range DIG, the CTD commander, and the Pishin SSP. The remains of the deceased terrorists and wounded CTD personnel were transported to Quetta Civil Hospital.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti commended the security forces for their successful operation, emphasizing the state institutions' resolute commitment and professional prowess in the fight against terrorism.
