Police arrest suspects, rescue victims, recover firearms in 11 states

The Nigeria Police Force has conducted successful operations across 11 states, neutralizing a suspected terrorist, rescuing kidnapped victims, and arresting suspects involved in kidnappings, armed robberies, and banditry. Operations took place between September 12 and 15, 2026, and resulted in the recovery of firearms, ammunition, illicit drugs, vehicles, motorcycles, ransom money, and other materials.

In Kebbi State, a terrorist was neutralized in Gumki Village, Arewa Local Government Area. In Katsina State, two women were rescued unharmed from armed bandits in Sha'Iskawa Fulani Village. In Ogun State, three armed robbery suspects were arrested, while in Akwa Ibom State, six suspects were apprehended. In Sokoto State, a suspected bandit informant was arrested, and ₦900,000 allegedly collected as part of a levy was recovered.

In Delta State, seven suspects were arrested during a raid on a criminal hideout. In Ekiti State, a suspected kidnapper and fraudster was intercepted and arrested. In Rivers State, a fleeing suspect and an abandoned Beretta pistol were apprehended. In Kaduna State, a kidnapped victim was rescued and reunited with their family. In Kogi State, a suspected kidnapper was arrested following an armed attack on a vehicle.

In Delta State, 10 suspects were arrested during separate raids on criminal hideouts. All cases are being investigated by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments.
