Police arrest suspects, rescue victims, recover firearms in 11 states

The Nigeria Police Force conducted operations in 11 states from September 12 to 15, 2026, resulting in significant successes. In Kebbi State, a suspected terrorist was neutralized during a clearance operation in Gumki Village. Police successfully rescued two women who were kidnapped in Sha’Iskawa Fulani Village, Kankia LGA of Katsina State.

Three suspected armed robbery gang members were arrested in Ogun State, along with six suspects in Akwa Ibom State. Technical operatives in Sokoto State arrested a bandit informant who was providing information to help apprehend other gang members. During raids in Delta State, seven suspects were detained in a criminal hideout. In Ekiti State, a suspected kidnapper and fraudster was arrested during a night operation.

A fleeing suspect was apprehended in Bonny, Rivers State, and an English-made Beretta pistol was recovered. Another kidnapped victim was rescued in Makarfi LGA of Kaduna State and reunited with his family. In Jigawa State, a suspect in connection with the alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl was arrested. In Delta State, 10 suspects were arrested during separate raids on criminal hideouts, with two locally made firearms and illicit drugs recovered.
