Patrick Mahomes’ ACL looks good in 15-yard TD scramble vs. Broncos

Nine months after suffering injuries to both the ACL and LCL in his left knee, Patrick Mahomes returned to the Kansas City Chiefs' starting lineup for the opening game of the 2026 NFL season against the Denver Broncos. During the Chiefs' first drive, Mahomes showcased his resilience by scrambling for a touchdown, demonstrating that any concerns about his left knee were unfounded.

This impressive play occurred just after an initial touchdown was scored, which was subsequently removed from the scoreboard due to holding penalties called on the Chiefs' offensive line. The touchdown scramble followed an interception by rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane, who started his first NFL game and provided Kansas City with excellent field position.

Another notable aspect of the drive was the presence of running back Kenneth Walker III, who contributed significantly to the first possession with seven carries for 32 yards, including notable runs. However, the primary focus remains on Mahomes, who had successfully recovered from his left knee injury sustained in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
