NSCDC arrests suspected car thieves, robbers, recovers stolen vehicles, AK-47 in Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) recently announced the arrest of several individuals suspected of engaging in various criminal activities within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and neighboring states. These suspects were brought before the Corps' National Headquarters in Abuja following a series of intelligence-driven operations carried out by the Commandant General's Special Intelligence Squad.

Among the arrested individuals was Adam Yusuf, who has been identified as a suspected member of a car-snatching syndicate operating in multiple states. Yusuf was apprehended near the Mpape Flyover while allegedly attempting to hand over a stolen Toyota Camry to an unknown buyer. The NSCDC also disclosed that during the arrest, they recovered an AK-47 rifle, 16 rounds of ammunition, and N70,000 from suspects linked to an armed robbery operation.

In addition to Yusuf, the NSCDC also announced the arrest of individuals involved in cable vandalism and the theft of agricultural infrastructure. Another suspect was accused of stealing 15 tractor batteries. The NSCDC emphasized that these arrests were part of their ongoing intelligence-driven operations aimed at curbing criminal activities and ensuring the safety of lives and property in the region.

The Corps also reported the successful rescue of Micaiah Nana, the last of 16 children who were allegedly trafficked by one Archibong Anderson. The rescue took place in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, and the alleged buyers have since been taken into custody and are currently assisting with the ongoing investigations.
