Nasdaq Verafin unites with Stablecore in financial crime fight

Nasdaq Verafin and Stablecore today announced a partnership that unifies digital asset and traditional banking data to help financial institutions detect financial crime across fiat and digital asset activity.

Nasdaq Verafin and Stablecore have joined forces to assist financial institutions in identifying financial crimes across both cash and digital asset transactions. The collaboration brings together Stablecore's infrastructure for digital asset services and Nasdaq Verafin's comprehensive financial crime management technology platform.

Currently in beta with select customers, the partnership aims to roll out the integration to mutual customers in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. By combining Stablecore's transaction data with Nasdaq Verafin's customer data and compliance infrastructure, this solution provides financial institutions with a unified view of their customers' on-chain financial activities, enabling effective investigation and risk assessment.

Rob Norris, senior vice president and head of product strategy at Nasdaq Verafin, emphasized that criminals often move between on-chain and off-chain channels to avoid detection. With this integration, both companies aim to provide financial institutions with a full view of their customers' transactions, making it impossible for criminals to conceal their activities regardless of where they transfer funds.

Stablecore Co-Founder and CEO Alex Treece stated that having the same compliance and fraud detection standards for digital assets as for traditional products will make digital assets viable within banking. By providing secure digital asset services, Stablecore ensures that activities are monitored with the same rigor as traditional payments, marking a significant step towards making digital assets a safe and secure option for banks, credit unions, and their customers.

Stablecore received a $20 million funding round in September 2025, which will be utilized to support its bank and credit union clients. Additionally, in August, Nasdaq Verafin announced a partnership with Q6 Cyber, adding the latter's dark web fraud intelligence to Nasdaq Verafin's data insights. This enhancement equips financial institutions with even more robust tools to identify and respond to emerging fraud and scam threats within their platform.
