Mets Minor League Players of the Week: Week Twenty-Five

The New York Mets honored their minor league players of the week for Week Twenty-Five. Triple-A Syracuse infielder Vidal Brujan took the honor of Hitter of the Week, despite having a poor start to his season. After being traded to the Mets from the Minnesota Twins, Brujan failed to make the big league roster and spent only a short time in Triple-A before being called up to Queens.

He struggled in his initial stint with Syracuse, but was then called up to the Mets when Ronny Mauricio suffered a broken thumb. Despite limited playing time, Brujan's performance was unimpressive.

Triple-A Binghamton right-hander Jonathan Santucci was awarded Pitcher of the Week. Santucci had struggled in his early starts after being promoted to Triple-A Syracuse, posting a 7.71 ERA in his first four starts. However, he improved significantly in his last three starts, posting a 3.00 ERA and drastically reducing his walk rate.

This improvement resulted in four Pitcher of the Week wins, activating the McNeil Rule for the second time in the season, with Santucci being the first pitcher to have it activated since Jonah Tong in Week Eleven of 2025.
