Haze: Johan Setia records highest API at 188, 47 stations remain unhealthy

As of 4pm today, 39 areas across Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings, according to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal. The highest reading of 188 was reported in Johan Setia, Selangor, followed by Shah Alam with a reading of 173, Klang at 167, Petaling Jaya at 166, Banting at 164, and Kuala Selangor at 163.

In Sarawak, the affected areas were Serian with a reading of 171 and Samarahan at 151. Johor had seven areas with unhealthy API levels, including Tangkak at 172, Pasir Gudang at 167, Kota Tinggi at 164, Larkin at 161, Batu Pahat at 160, Pengerang at 160, and Segamat at 117. Pahang recorded five areas with unhealthy air quality, namely Indera Mahkota Kuantan at 167, Temerloh at 163, Jerantut at 163, Balok Baru Kuantan at 162, and Rompin at 154.

Negeri Sembilan had three areas with unhealthy readings - Nilai at 176, Seremban at 172, and Port Dickson at 159. In Terengganu, Kemaman at 161, Paka at 158, and Kuala Terengganu at 157 were affected. Perak had four areas with unhealthy API readings - Tanjung Malim at 166, Seri Manjung at 160, Tasek Ipoh at 157, and Pagoh Ipoh at 104.

Melaka had two areas with unhealthy levels - Alor Gajah and Bukit Rambai, both at 164. Penang reported unhealthy levels in Balik Pulau at 154, Minden at 152, and Seberang Jaya at 139. Other areas with unhealthy API levels included Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Sungai Petani, Kedah. Meanwhile, 29 areas nationwide recorded moderate API levels, with a reading range of 51 to 200.
