Gov't to redesign Airport enclave roads to ease congestion as Sentuo project comes on board - Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama ceremonially began work on Sentuo Group's Airport Garden City project in Accra, projecting the construction of over 3,000 jobs, most of which will be filled by Ghanaians. At the sod-cutting ceremony, Sentuo Group's Executive Chairman Xu Ningquan announced the employment target and unveiled the project's sales office.

The development, dubbed "The Garden Above Accra," will be an integrated community offering residential units, a hotel, conference facilities, healthcare services, retail spaces, gardens, and recreational areas. The project aims to enhance Accra's allure for business, tourism, and urban living by providing accommodations suitable for international conferences and high-level meetings.

Xu Ningquan highlighted the opportunities for artisans, technicians, engineers, hospitality professionals, and managers the development would create. He also announced that the project would implement apprenticeship and practical training programs to equip young Ghanaians with the skills necessary to improve their employment prospects. International experts working on the project would share their knowledge and skills with their Ghanaian counterparts, ensuring the benefits of the investment remain within the country.

President Mahama praised Sentuo Group's continued investment in Ghana, emphasizing that projects like this are crucial for the nation's development. He assured investors of the government's ongoing support for initiatives that generate employment, stimulate economic activity, and contribute to national growth. Assistant Minister for Works and Housing Ahmed Ibrahim encouraged developers to embrace vertical construction to tackle Ghana's housing deficit, stating that building upward would make better use of limited land resources and increase the availability of housing, particularly in the capital.

Ghana was described as an attractive investment destination by the Minister, stressing the importance of public-private partnerships in expanding the country's housing stock. Sentuo Group pledged to ensure affordability, transparent pricing, and clear contractual terms for potential homeowners. The company also committed to incorporating Ghanaian creativity into the development through its landscaping, artwork, and interior design, as well as featuring Ghanaian food and hospitality in the visitor experience.

Xu Ningquan expressed Sentuo Group's confidence in Ghana's future, with the success of Airport Garden City being measured not only by the scale of the development but also by the tangible benefits it provides to Ghanaians, such as job creation, skill development, and housing delivery.
