Coach Brent Key urges Georgia Tech to ’embrace the challenge’ after 0-2 start

"The identity that you have at the beginning of the season doesn’t mean it’s the identity you’re going to have for the full season," Key stated. Embracing the challenge is the key, he believes, especially as he transitions from having Haynes King as the starting quarterback for four years to the new addition, Alberto Mendoza. Key acknowledges that the team's roster has undergone substantial turnover, making it difficult to maintain consistency.

However, he remains confident in Mendoza's abilities and emphasizes the importance of learning from each game, both the mistakes and the successes. Key's background as an offensive lineman for Georgia Tech from 1997-2000 gives him a unique perspective, and he stresses that a Week 1 loss to Colorado does not define the team's overall performance.
