Bill Gates compares AI to alien intelligence in movies where ‘magically the US and China’ solve the problem together — warns world governments that they’re not ready for AI

In an article published by Reuters, Gates stated, "I don’t think any government is nearly as deep on this as they have to be."

Gates compared AI to extraterrestrial intelligence, drawing parallels to how fictional movies depict countries coming together to combat alien threats. He likened AI to such an "alien intelligence" that has already arrived on Earth, and stressed the urgency for governments to act like the characters in these films. As a result, Gates has been engaging with world leaders such as U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping to share his concerns.

In addition to the potential job displacement caused by AI, Gates warns that the technology could also lead to human society facing unprecedented challenges. He suggested that some jobs should be "Human Reserved" to ensure that humans maintain a role in their own society.
