Benue: Police present insurance cheques to families of deceased officers

The Benue State Police Command recently presented insurance cheques to the families of deceased police officers. This act of generosity took place on Tuesday at the Command Headquarters in Makurdi, as part of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu's initiatives to aid families affected by service-related deaths.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Orchia Peter Aondongu, conveyed this message on behalf of the Commissioner of Police. The primary purpose of this gesture was to provide relief to bereaved families.

Delivering the cheques, CP Cletus C.N. Nwadiobu, the Commissioner of Police for Benue State Command, conveyed his condolences and warm regards to the families over their loss. He acknowledged that no monetary compensation could ever truly replace the loss of a loved one, emphasizing that the insurance benefits were intended to offer some relief and support to the affected families.

Nwadiobu urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely, primarily focusing on addressing immediate needs and supporting the welfare and education of the children left behind by the deceased officers.

Nwadiobu reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, stating that the Command would continue to support Inspector-General of Police initiatives aimed at assisting officers and families affected by service-related deaths. This act of kindness and support from the Benue State Police Command highlights the organization's dedication to the well-being of its officers and their families.
