A Paris court awards Kim Kardashian 1 euro after her 2016 robbery

U.S. reality TV star Kim Kardashian received a symbolic €1 in damages from the thieves who attacked her at gunpoint in a Paris hotel in 2016, according to a lawyer. The heist, which saw the robbers steal her $4 million engagement ring and other jewels, was one of France's largest in 20 years. Kardashian had testified that she believed she was going to die during the ordeal.

She sought the symbolic amount from some of the convicted thieves in a civil damages case. The majority of the stolen jewels, including her engagement ring given by her then-husband Kanye West, remain unrecovered. Seven others were convicted for crimes linked to the heist. Kardashian forgave the mastermind of the robbery, Aomar Ait Khedache, who was jailed for three years, but admitted the trauma of the events remains.
