A Paris court awards Kim Kardashian 1 euro after her 2016 robbery

A Paris court handed Kim Kardashian 1 euro ($1.15) in compensation for an armed robbery that occurred during Fashion Week in 2016, the same amount she had requested, according to her lawyer. The celebrity had expressed gratitude to the French justice system for recognizing the traumatic experience she endured, stating that the decision was about accountability and recognition rather than the monetary amount.

Kardashian, along with her stylist Simone Harouche, who was present during the robbery, shared their appreciation for the court's decision in a joint statement to The Associated Press. The court also awarded 50,000 euros ($57,741) to the hotel where Kardashian was staying at the time of the heist. The robbers, dressed as police officers, forced their way into Kardashian's suite, bound her, and stole over $6 million worth of jewelry.

All six of the robbers, known as "les papys braqueurs" or the grandpa robbers, were in their 60s and 70s at the time of the trial, and none of them appealed the verdict.
