18-year-old and 3 youths allegedly found with loaded gun in North York

Toronto police have charged an 18-year-old and three 16-year-olds with firearms-related offenses following an incident in the Finch Avenue West and Yorkgate Boulevard area on Monday morning. The 18-year-old was driving a vehicle when he was pulled over for a violation of the Highway Traffic Act. During the investigation, police discovered the individual was in possession of a firearm, as well as "break and enter tools."

As a result of the arrest, Kwabena Ameyaw, 18, faces charges including possessing a break-in instrument, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, possessing a firearm without a license, possessing a loaded regulated firearm, careless driving, and driving a motor vehicle without a valid license.

Three other youths, aged 16, were also arrested and charged with similar offenses: possessing a break-in instrument, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, possessing a firearm without a license, and possessing a loaded regulated firearm. A loaded prohibited firearm was seized during the incident, and images of the weapon have since been released.
