OKAZAKI, Japan - The coach of South Korea's national women's volleyball team expressed confidence that his team will secure a medal at the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games after their first official training session in Japan. Coach Cha Sang-hyun noted that his players showed strong determination for the Asian Games, aiming to improve from their quarterfinal performance in the previous competition.

The team arrived in Japan the day before to begin their quest to reclaim a medal, facing Hong Kong, Qatar, and Vietnam in Pool D of the preliminary round. South Korea will advance to the quarterfinals with the top two teams from each of the four groups. Cha emphasized the importance of beating Vietnam in their first match to gain an advantage in a potential quarterfinal against a Pool B team that includes China.
