Primary poll: APC’s approach to resolving crisis flawed – Haske

Abdurahman Haske, a gubernatorial candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Adamawa State, criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) method for addressing the state's crisis. Speaking on TVC's Politics on Sunday, Haske, a former APC aspirant, argued that the party's approach lacked an adequate consensus-building process ahead of the governorship primary. He maintained that he had no personal grievance with the party, but contended that its resolution strategy for the post-primary crisis was flawed.

Haske highlighted that after the primary, there was no substantial effort from party elders and stakeholders to unite the remaining aspirants. He also accused some party leaders of boasting about their connections in Abuja, suggesting that these individuals were determining the candidate rather than the political structures. Haske defended his move to join APM, stating that strong political teams are built around good people, not party offices.

In terms of his campaign strategy, Haske emphasized focusing on Adamawa's young demographic, which he believed is the state's major population group. He claimed that his proposed agenda to prioritize Adamawa's interests was created through thorough research and needs assessment, with the aim of addressing the state's challenges.

While Haske expressed a cordial relationship with APC leaders at the national level, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he emphasized that the state-level situation was different. He argued that the crisis had intensified just before the governorship primary, where aspirants met with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. Haske contended that the governor had assured them of a free and fair primary, but the actual events on primary day were different.
