Kremlin-linked Russian oligarch helped fund Trump Jr.'s wedding celebration

Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev, with close ties to the Kremlin, has paid for portions of the wedding celebrations of President Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., and his socialite wife Bettina, according to the ProPublica investigative website. The billionaire businessman is believed to have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars towards the festivities, which took place in the Bahamas following their May wedding.

The Ukrainian-born Trump couple confirmed the generous donation in a post on Bettina's Instagram, crediting Kremlev as their dear friend who hosted two incredible nights of festivities on a private island. Kremlev, the head of the International Boxing Association, was presented with the Order of Friendship award by Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this year.

Despite initial criticism over the Russian connection, the Trumps and Kremlev have defended the gesture as a genuine act of friendship and generosity.
