Police probe inside job element in RM2.91 mil luxury condo robbery

KUALA LUMPUR: The police are probing the potential involvement of individuals with insider knowledge in a high-value RM2.91 million robbery at a luxury condominium along Jalan Ampang on September 7. Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus stated that investigations have established a link between the robbery and the victim, though further details have not been disclosed.

He emphasized the necessity of granting the investigation sufficient time to unfold. Police have identified the suspects but have not yet made any arrests. The number of suspects remains undisclosed as the investigation is ongoing. The police have recorded statements from the victim, condominium residents, staff members, and security guards to aid the probe.

They are also in communication with the Chinese Embassy following the theft of the victim's passport. The robbery occurred between 2 pm and 3 pm when masked, gloved men armed with knives entered a residential unit at Pavilion Embassy in Jalan Ampang. They successfully stole cash, jewelry, and luxury watches worth RM2.91 million, as well as damaging phones and stealing the victim's passport. The 28-year-old male victim, a Chinese citizen, was present during the incident.
