MAPPED: This is where the 5 murdered Kempton Park bodies have been found

Between July and September of 2026, Gauteng police discovered the remains of five women in the Kempton Park area. The cases appear to be related, and police are investigating possible involvement of a serial killer. All the killings took place near or around the R21 highway, and the victims were mostly half-naked women. In the first case, a 37-year-old woman was found in an open field near the highway.

A suspect was arrested two days later and remains in custody. The second victim, a 32-year-old woman, was found with visible bruises on her body. Her body was discovered on the R21 highway as well. A third woman's decomposing body was found near Rhodesfield, also near the R21. On another occasion, police found a fourth body while searching for missing jogger Elizabeth Mokolo Moselakgomo, whose 8-year-old daughter was left at home to accompany her on the run.

The fifth body was discovered on the R21 near Olifantsfontein, and the scene is still under investigation. Acting National Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane has ordered a task team to investigate the murders, headed by Gauteng’s Deputy Provincial Commissioner Major General Mbuso Khumalo. Police have advised women to avoid walking or running alone, stay away from secluded spaces, remain vigilant, and travel or exercise in groups when possible.
