Maldini’s son loses driving licence after drink-drive crash

Daniel Maldini, son of the legendary Italian and AC Milan footballer Paolo Maldini, has had his driving license suspended following a car crash in Milan, Italy. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, just hours after Maldini scored the winning goal for Cagliari in a Serie A match against Atalanta. Maldini, 24, was one of six people with minor injuries after his Porsche Carrera 4 collided with another vehicle.

He was administered a breathalyser test at the scene, which recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.91 grams per litre, with a second test registering 0.89 grams per litre. Both readings exceeded Italy's legal limit of 0.5 grams per litre, leading to the confiscation of his driving license. Maldini was taken to the hospital for precautionary checks before being released.

Cagliari confirmed Maldini had undergone toxicological screening, with all tests returning negative results. The club stated that Maldini would continue to be with the team during training as they prepare for their upcoming matches.
