Korean Air to begin booking migration ahead of Asiana integration

Korean Air announced on Monday that it will commence transferring Asiana Airlines' bookings and flight numbers to its own system starting November 2, in preparation for the full integration of the two carriers in December. The migration will occur in stages until December 3. All Asiana passengers will be rebooked under Korean Air flight numbers, effectively replacing the OZ code with the KE code.

This migration will only apply to existing Asiana bookings for flights departing on or after December 17, the scheduled date of the merger between the two airlines. Korean Air stated that the migration will be executed ahead of time to minimize disruptions and ensure a seamless transition to its system. In August, Asiana shareholders approved the merger with Korean Air, completing nearly six years of the acquisition process.
