Korean Air to begin booking migration ahead of Asiana integration

Korean Air announced on Monday that it will begin transferring Asiana Airlines' bookings and flight numbers to its own system in November, as part of the carriers full integration set to take place in December. The migration will occur in stages from November 2 through December 3. Asiana passengers will need to be rebooked under Korean Air flight numbers, with the OZ code being replaced by the KE code.

The migration will be applied to existing Asiana bookings for flights departing on or after December 17, when the two airlines are expected to fully merge. Korean Air stated that the migration will take place in advance of the merger to minimize disruptions and ensure a smooth transition to its system. In August, Asiana Airlines' shareholders approved the merger with the larger rival Korean Air, concluding nearly six years of the latter's acquisition process.
