India refuse to accept Women's Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi after beating Sri Lanka in final

India's Women's cricket team declined to accept the Women's Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi after defeating Sri Lanka in the final match held at the Dubai International Stadium. The match, which saw a large crowd of India fans, ended in India's favor by 72 runs. The victorious Indian team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, chose not to follow the precedent set by their male counterparts who had previously refused to shake hands with Pakistan's players during the men's Asia Cup.

As per the Asian Cricket Council's rules, Mohsin Naqvi, who serves as Pakistan's Minister of Interior and the organization's president, was the expected presenter. India's coach, Amol Mazumdar, asserted that the team had completed the tournament as champions and was content with their victory. He highlighted the high standards the team set for themselves throughout the competition. Sri Lanka's captain, Chamari Athapaththu, accepted the runners-up cheque on behalf of her team.
